Feasibility Study for Small-scale Wastewater Treatment Facility in the Village of Nakolec, Resen, Macedonia

Clients: (1) UNDP CO Macedonia: Integrated Ecosystem Management in the Prespa Lakes Basin of Albania, Macedonia and Greece project; (2) Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, Macedonia.
Period: July – September, 2007

Preparation of a comprehensive feasibility analysis that enables: (1) development, evaluation and design of a wastewater treatment facility for the Nakolec village, based on identification and comparative analysis of several alternative treatment technologies against multiple criteria; and (2) defining an implementing institutional model and project implementation strategy. The study looks closer into the possibility of using alternative (close-to-nature) wastewater treatment technologies, and as well into the possibility for replication of the selected technology at other sites in the Prespa region and elsewhere throughout the country.
