The total area of arable land to be covered with the analyzed irrigation scheme equals 2,000 ha. In the initial phase of the study (May – Aug 2012) the focus of the assessment activities will be on: water balance analysis; identification of alternative technical solutions for the irrigation system; least-cost analysis and selection of a preferred technical alternative; irrigation tariff structure design based on detailed affordability analysis; economic and financial cost-benefit analysis; institutional analysis; and socio-economic survey.
